Ze stelden voor om het radium te noemen.<\/p>\n\n\n<span class=\"bsf-rt-reading-time\"><span class=\"bsf-rt-display-label\" prefix=\"Reading Time\">\n\t\t<\/span> <span class=\"bsf-rt-display-time\" reading_time=\"1\"><\/span> \n\t\t<span class=\"bsf-rt-display-postfix\" postfix=\"mins\"><\/span><\/span>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tegenwoordig wordt een radium-isotoop in de geneeskunde toegepast om uitgezaaide botkanker te lijf te gaan, gebruikmakend van het feit dat de radiumisotoop binnen een relatief klein gebied celdodende heliumkernen afgeeft (zogenaamd \u03b1-verval).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Een Engelse vertaling van het originele artikel is <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"online (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/history.aip.org\/history\/exhibits\/curie\/article.htm\" target=\"_blank\">online<\/a> beschikbaar.
